CHAPIN—Memorial service for Sara Ellen Bethea Flora, 90, will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011, at New Life Chapel at The Heritage at Lowman. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. in the Hoefler Gallery adjacent to the chapel. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel is assisting the family.
Mrs. Flora died Saturday, October 9, 2011. Born in Dillon County, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Maggie Bass Bethea.
Surviving are her son, A.C. Flora III (Rita) of Columbia; daughters, Barbara Livingston (Bob) of West Columbia, Sara Haas (Jim) of Green, Ohio.; sister, Elizabeth Bethea Patrick of N. Augusta; nine grandchildren, Acy Flora IV (Blair), Bob Livingston III, Betsy Sippel (Patrick), James Haas Jr. (Tiffany), Rachel Popkowski (Joe), Anna Bryant (Tom), Christopher Haas, Rebekah Livingston, Roxanne Livingston; two great grandchildren, Jack Robert Sippel and Olivia Marie Haas. She was predeceased by her husband, Abram Cline Flora Jr.; brothers, John D. Bethea, William H. Bethea, Foster Bass Bethea; sister Barbara Bethea Wood.
