Services for Billy Hester Currin will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Mr. Currin, 74, died Monday, September 12, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Robeson County, NC, December 13, 1936, he was the son of the late Frank Hester Currin and Pauline Gore Currin. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Veteran, and attended Kentyre Presbyterian Church. He was the widower of the late Bonnie Carol McKellar Currin.
Survivors include his daughters, Paula Belk Caulder of Dillon, and Billie Ann (Jason) Dangerfield of Australia; grandchildren, Angela Carol Overby, Sarah-Jayne “Matt” York, and Amy Jae Dangerfield; great-grandchildren, Sky McLellan, Kage Overby, Nick Overby, and Maggie Overby; brothers, Johnny (Carol) Currin of Lumberton, NC, and Lewis Currin of Arizona.
Mr. Currin was preceded in death by his grandson, Billy Joel “Bubba” Belk; and his brother, Robert Currin.
