Dr. Rick Rogers of Open Door Community Church spoke to the Dillon City Council at their meeting about bath salts.
He asked the council to ban the substance. Attorney Jack McInnis said the DEA has not classified it as a drug, but is studying it. He said SLED and the Sheriff’s Association are behind legislation and plan to push it when the legislature returns.
Synthetic marijuana, which was also discussed, is on the DEA list. After further discussion, it was decided that the city will look into what action can be taken.
