McLeod Physician Associates and McLeod Medical Center Dillon are pleased to announce that Rebecca J. Craig, M.D. has joined McLeod OB/GYN Dillon.
Dr. Craig received her degree in medicine from Meharry Medical College, Nashville, TN, in 2002.
She completed an OB/GYN Residency in 2006 at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA
During undergraduate studies, Dr. Craig received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences at Florida International University, Tamiami, FL. “At medical school, during my first rotation in Obstetrics, when I saw my first delivery I knew this would be my life’s work,” recalled Dr. Craig. “It’s very exciting to be even a small part of the beginning of a new life. I am equally interested in the health of women of all ages. OB/GYN allows me to educate young patients on birth control and preventative medicine so they can maintain good health.
“It is important to me to build a good rapport with my patients,” she continued. “I am interested in encouraging women to become more informed about their health and preventative care.” Dr. Craig enjoys practicing medicine in a small town and looks forward to becoming a member of the McLeod Dillon team.
“In Dillon, I was greeted with a warm welcome, which made me feel at home,” she said.
“McLeod Dillon has a long, established history in the community, and it offers a wide range of services. McLeod Dillon is fortunate to have McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC, as part of their health network. This affiliation offers a continuum of care for any additional services my patients might need,” she said.
“The staff at McLeod Dillon is grounded in the community and show a real interest in serving their neighbors.”
Dr. Craig is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Craig grew up in Jamaica with artistic parents. “My father is an artist, my mother a writer. Although I chose sciences, I have a strong appreciation for all the arts,” she said.
Dr. Craig and her husband will be relocating to Dillon from Americus, GA, where she most recently practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) with a local healthcare organization.
