The Dillon County Council approved the third and final reading of their 2011-2012 budget at their meeting last Wednesday.
The position of a finance director was included in the budget, but will not become an expenditure without a vote of the county council. It was explained to The Herald after the meeting that the council would not be voting on who to fill the position, but only to fund the position.
The motion to pass the budget was made by Councilman Harold Moody with a second by Councilman Joe Johnson. The budget was approved.
