A missing boater on McLaurin Lake was found deceased after a search, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Arnette said the man had gone fishing. His boat was found on the water, but he was missing.
Coroner Donnie Grimsley identified the man as 64-year-old Johnny Hayes of Dillon.
The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, the Dillon Rescue Squad, and the Deppartment of Natural Resources conducted a search and recovered the victim.
