Louil Preston Beach, 82, died Thursday, April 28, 2011, at his residence.
Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M. Saturday in Second Baptist Church. Entombment with full military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cooper funeral home in Dillon.
Born in Jackson, Mississippi, January 5, 1929, he was the son of the late Louil Preston Beach, Sr. and Mary Lee Hemphill Beach. He was in the U.S. Army two years and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 24 years of service, he was a a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Dillon Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jimmie Scott Beach of Florence; daughters, Ellen Carol Beach and Belinda Beach Moser both of Florence; son, Larry L. Beach of Dillon; 6 grandchildren, Eric S. Williamson, Phillip R. Williamson, Daniel W. Beach, Jason Beach, Kayla Moser, and Zachary Moser; 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Preston Walker Beach.
