Dillon Christian School’s Townsend Hamilton was among eighty-six golfers vying for four qualifying spots in the PGA Wells Fargo Open on Monday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Hamilton shot an 83 with two birdies and six pars on his round. He didn’t make the field for the event, but it’s likely a minor setback for the junior golfer, who, in his freshman year at DCS, was the Class 2A state champion. Just last week he tied for first place in the 2011 state tournament.
The four qualifying spots for the PGA tournament went to Kyle Thompson, Willie Wood, Lanto Griffin, and Bryan Bigley.
