McLeod Medical Center Dillon is pleased to announce Dr. J. Daniel Kubley has joined the McLeod Medical Center Dillon Hospitalist Program. Dr. Kubley is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He will begin seeing patients on April 26, 2011.
Dr. Kubley received his degree in medicine from Indiana University Medical School in 1973. He completed an internship at New Hanover Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, NC. During undergraduate studies, Dr. Kubley received a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University.
Dr. Kubley is an accomplished physician with over thirty-five years of experience. Dr. Kubley will be relocating from Novant Brunswick Community Hospital, Supply, NC, where he most recently practiced as a Hospitalist.
“I enjoy a career as a Hospitalist because of the challenges involved with caring for inpatients,” said Dr. Kubley. His father was a family medicine physician. Dr. Kubley recalls, “I saw how much my father enjoyed caring for generations of families as well as the variety of patients and patient needs that he encountered.”
A Hospitalist is a medical doctor whose primary professional focus is the medical care of hospitalized patients. Hospitalists are based in the hospital and specialize in all aspects of a patient’s care from admission to discharge. Often, if a patient is under the care of a Hospitalist, they may not have a primary care physician or their primary care physician does not care for patients in a hospital setting.
Because the Hospitalist Team does not maintain a private outside practice, their time is devoted solely to caring for hospitalized patients. If a patient has a primary care physician, the Hospitalist Team will communicate directly with this physician providing routine updates and further recommendations for the patient’s continued recovery.
“I am looking forward to becoming a member of the McLeod Dillon team and becoming involved in the Dillon community. I was impressed by the hospital and found a caring, friendly team of caregivers at McLeod Dillon,” said Dr. Kubley.
Highly skilled and compassionate, Dr. Kubley looks forward to caring for patients in the Dillon community.
Dr. Kubley is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
He and his wife, Susie, have four children. Dr. Kubley enjoys golfing, cooking and reading.
