A fire destroyed a mobile home at 2314 Highway 9 East in Dillon on Tuesday, according to Fire Chief Buddy Ray. The owner of the home is Betty Hayes, Ray said. The woman’s son got burned on his hands and face and was carried to the burn center in Georgia, Ray said. Firefighters got the call at approximately 4:45 a.m. He said while they did not know the cause at press time, it is believed that the fire started in a bedroom.
