During the most recent North Eastern Strategic Alliance’s (NESA) Executive Committee meeting late last week, Dillon County Economic Developer, Tonny McNeil, had an opportunity to hear from South Carolina Department of Commerce Secretary Robert “Bobby” M. Hitt III.
Hitt discussed his excitement about working with local developers and organizations in their shared effort to bring employment opportunities to the residents of the Pee Dee region.
Following the meeting, NESA’s executive board and investors hosted a luncheon with Hitt and members of the NESA legislative delegation. After the event, Hitt noted, “enhancing the partnerships between Commerce and local and regional allies is critical to our success, and I look forward to working with every county in the NESA region and throughout the state to advance economic development and bring more jobs to South Carolina.”
The North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA) is a regional economic development organization that serves a nine-county region in the northeast corner of South Carolina. NESA’s primary objective is to enhance significantly the quality of life for residents of the region by creating additional jobs and capital investment within the existing industry base as well as through recruitment of new companies and expansion of tourism related development.
NESA’s nine member counties are Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, Marlboro, and Williamsburg.
