Edward Garrett Currie, 80, died in the Morrison Manor (Scotland County, NC, Hospice) in Laurinburg, NC, Friday, December 17, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon, SC, on Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 6:00- 8:00 PM. Funeral services are 2:30 PM, Monday, December 20, 2010 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery, in Dillon, SC, with Masonic Rites, directed by Kannaday Funeral Home. Mr. Currie was born September 13, 1930 the son of the late Ora Jane Arnette and Garrett Gershwin Currie and was married to the late Janey Elizabeth Currie. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and was self-employed in the heating and air conditioning and plumbing business. He taught in the Lake View school system as well. Mr. Currie was a Past Master Mason and a member of the American Legion. He held a degree from Clemson University and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by
his daughter, Emilie C. (Mike) Hamilton of Bennettsville, SC.
