Daniel Stuart Carmichael has joined the City of Dillon Police Department.
Carmichael graduated in October from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. This is his first job in law enforcement.
Carmichael served in the Army and the National Guard and has been deployed twice. He is currently a member of the Latta Rescue Squad.
Carmichael, who resides in Latta, wanted to become a policeman because he likes helping people.
He is the son of Charlie and Linda Carmichael. His grandparents are Charles and Sarah Lee.
