Services for John Allen Locklear was held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamer Church of God with burial in Butler & Locklear Family Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Mr. Locklear, 49, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at his residence.
Born in Marlboro County, August 2, 1961, he was the son of Bonnie Chavis Locklear and the late James Locklear.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Mary B. Locklear of Dillon; four daughters, Barbara (Dominic) Ford, Christy (Archie) McCollum, Jr., Ashley Locklear, Cassie Oxendine of Dillon; two sons, Tommy (Roxann) Locklear, Jonathan (Chillitta) Locklear, of Dillon; his mother, Bonnie Locklear of Dillon; four sisters, Patricia Smith, Sheila Locklear, Dorenia Vaulk, Vickie Diazz of Dillon; seven brothers, Roger Locklear of McColl, Paul Henry Locklear, Jerry Locklear, Michael Locklear, Nathiel Locklear of Dillon, Hank Locklear of Clinton, NC, Samuel Locklear of Latta; 12 grandchildren, Chris, Jasmine, Darius, Aja, Nichols, Tamara, Lakia, Kierra, Austin, Curtis, Jashaun,, As’Sata; 4 special brothers-in-law, Tony Butler, Charles Oxendine, Leroy Smith, and Chico Vaulk; 2 special sisters-in-law, Versie Daniels and Lena Butler; his best friend, Wiley Locklear; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Ray Locklear; a sister, Edna Jean Locklear; and a grand-daughter, Cierra Bruce.
