The LifePoint Church of Dillon held the second Back to School Bash for the children of Dillon County on Saturday, July 31 from noon until 4 p.m. at the City of Dillon Wellness Center.
This well-received event was directed by Shannon Jensen and assisted by Kathy Elrod and Stephanie Bracey.

This event was completely free but could not have been done without everyone working together and with the tremendous support from many sponsors.
This year 1.000 children received backpacks filled with school supplies and also received free services such as sports physicals, dental screenings, haircuts, immunizations and more. In addition, the Dillon County Health Department opened to give shots.
In addition, the backpacks also contained Christian literature from the South Carolina Baptist Association and Baptist Tracts from the Gideons.
This event in its second year doubled from the first year to benefit kids who were entering kindergarten through twelfth grade.
While everyone was waiting in line, those who wanted refreshments received them, and all were treated to a live DJ.
