Aundra Antonio Manning is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill, according to Detective Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Arnette said the details of the case are sketchy, but it appears that Manning was involved in some type of verbal confrontation with the victim, Hector Benjamin McLean, age 56, of Little Rock. Arnette said this verbal confrontation apparently escalated into a physical confrontation.
A report by Sgt. Dewitt Coleman of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office stated that on July 24th, McLean was found laying by his car in a yard on Blackwell Avenue in Little Rock. The man was unconscious and bleeding from the mouth. A family member told The Herald that McLean’s condition was very serious and that he is not responsive.
A bond hearing was held on Manning on Tuesday afternoon. He received a $10,000 surety bond. Conditions of the bond included a no contact order with the victim or the victim’s family, which was stressed by the judge.
Manning’s first court appearance is scheduled for October 26th a 9 a.m.
The maximum sentence for assault and battery with intent to kill is 20 years in prison.
