More than fifty youth and their supervisors who make up The Harvest Salkehatchie Summer Camp divided into teams and headed out to renovate and repair six homes in Dillon County on Monday, July 12.
They will spend the week working to replace rotted siding, worn and leaking roofs, bad plumbing and wiring, and more.
Sponsored by the South Carolina Methodist Conference, this is the third year they have chosen to come to the Dillon area. They are housed in the Dillon High gym and cafeteria.
Evening meals are prepared for them by members of various Methodist churches in the area, with Main Street UMC acting as the host church.
It is a week of hard work mixed with fun, fellowship and worship. Their work is most appreciated by the recipients and the sponsoring churches.
