Former Dillon County resident Timmy Dee will be featured in the upcoming feature film, “Ten.”
The movie is a murder mystery, and Timmy Dee will be playing the role of Steven Yates, which is considered a significant role in the film.
While doing an interview on the talk show, “Rivertalk,” this past March, it was suggested to Timmy to stop over to Loris, SC, on his way back to Lumberton, NC to audition for one of the roles.
Unbeknownst to Timmy, he would do a couple of readings for roles.  The producer/director, the director of photography and the star/screenwriter auditioned Timmy.  A couple of weeks later, he was called on his cell phone and was told he had a part in the movie.
The director/producer is Todd Cannon.  The director of photography is Dave Munn, and the screenwriter and star of the movie is Michael Tisdale.
Most of the movie’s location will be shot in Loris, SC, and the rest of the film will be shot in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Plans for the premier will be sometime this fall.
Timmy Dee was born in the Bronx, NY.  His family moved to Dillon when Timmy was nine. He graduated from Dillon High School in 1973.
His mother, Mrs. Lena Commedo still lives in Dillon.  Timmy has two children, Frances and Sean; and four grandchildren, Jay (TJ), Jordane, Aniah and Lunden.
Last August, Timmy finished work on his fifth CD, entitled, “Timmy Dee: Again.”  Plans for the release are this summer.
Timmy is also featured in the current McNeill Jeweler’s commercial.  In 2008, he was featured in a series of IGA Foodstore commercials.
Timmy Dee’s ongoing work includes live performances in churches, residential/nursing homes, schools and recreation centers in both North and South Carolina.
As a result of getting the current movie role in “Ten,” Timmy was on the show, “Rivertalk,” talking about a movie he had written and still plans to produce.  The movie’s title is “Warfare,”  about a lady discovering her nephew’s involvement in practicing witchcraft.
Timmy Dee now resides in Lumberton, NC.
