Last year about this time or perhaps a little earlier (right before the summer season officially started), I did an article about the “Dragon of Summer’s Heat and Humidity.”
Just when I was preparing to get started on writing about a particular issue for my column today, my intention of writing about the matter was preempted by the urgency of an escalating evil that is transpiring in Dillon, especially in Newtown.
In my column today, I want to consider an issue that is seldom contemplated or discussed by most.
If you are interested in the Latta Library, you are one of the people in our community who should attend the community meeting planned for July 29th at 5:00 p.m. at the library.
As I have already established a few weeks past, I will occasionally present to you an original short story that will address and tackle some of the major issues of life that perhaps all of us, in some way, have to contend with.
Social Media. Many people think it is a forum to post your opinion or whatever is on your mind and get lots of likes or to show that the poster is outspoken.

Since this is the season when we celebrate the Declaration of Independence and our victory over the British Empire (that was the most powerful country in the world at that time), I deem it very appropriate and timely to dedicate my column today in an attempt to consider an issue that is very relevant to our Fourth of July observance.
