The burial of Dillon native Lewis Rogers, Citadel Class of ’82, took place on 18 January 2018 in the cemetery of St. Paul United Methodist Church, a graceful old country church built in 1871 in nearby Little Rock.

The burial of Dillon native Lewis Rogers, Citadel Class of ’82, took place on 18 January 2018 in the cemetery of St. Paul United Methodist Church, a graceful old country church built in 1871 in nearby Little Rock.
During this entire month of February, I shall devote my column to a four-part fictional narrative that is based on historical and factual events in Black History. These stories and plots are original pieces I wrote entitled, “Aunt Daisy’s Dramatic Dream Bed”. Let’s join in and be a part of the unfolding drama as we commence with Part 1.
Except it is a matter of ethics, morals, and Judeo-Christian principles and values that are being distorted, denigrated or censored, I have endeavored to be as apolitical as possible in my column.

I just recently had an opportunity to speak with an old friend who I knew well about 20 years ago. I have written this letter in response to our conversation and also because last week was the anniversary of “Roe verses Wade” the decision that made abortion legal in America.

Dillon County Economic Development Director Tonny McNeil resigned last week, and the county began advertising for a replacement; however, instead of advertising for an Economic Development Director, the county is advertising for an Economic Development Project Manager.
