Former NFL player Richard Francis Sanford, age 54, of Lexington, pled guilty in federal court in Columbia to Bankruptcy Fraud on Friday.
On Wednesday, July 6, Dillon’s Kwinton Smith verbally committed to play football for the University of South Carolina in 2012. The senior wide-receiver is the 11th player to verbally commit for the 2012 class, and the first receiver to commit.
Latta High School announced Wednesday that Kelly Williamson has been named new head coach of the Latta Vikings varsity football team, effective May 18, 2011.
The South Carolina High School League’s executive committee has voted 13-2 to approve a proposed split in the Class 2A football division to create two state championship games. The decision comes after a 33-15 vote in favor of the approval from Class 2A athletic directors in late March.
Last week, athletic directors voted 33-15 in favor of a proposal to divide Class 2A football for the coming season. The proposal still has to be approved by the activities committed and the South Carolina High School League executive committee.
Both Lake View and Latta had players named to the 2010 All State Football teams.
The KDFL Fantasy Football League celebrated their season with a trophy ceremony and cookout.
