Admin 2If someone would have told me some years ago that I would one day be so close to a canine, that I literally share snacks with while we are riding, I would have called them crazy, said they were “out to lunch”, or that their elevator did not go all the way up to the top floor.
He no longer lived at his boyhood home, but now he was visiting his mother on a Sunday afternoon which explained why he was wearing his ‘dress’ clothes. She lived in the country and in her earlier life had been a farmer’s wife which explained why she still maintained her small flock of chickens.
Life is full of surprises, undoubtedly one reason why we hold on to it so dearly. We want to know what’s coming up next and find the unexpected somewhat exciting.

This is a fruit concoction we’ve been enjoying for years.
Most of my life has been spent either going to school or teaching in school. Some of the activities that students and teachers are currently facing are all too familiar to me. But this is not about today rather it’s about being a student at the Hamer Grammar School in the 1930s.
This recipe is one a lot of my friends have been making this summer. What better time for a tomato recipe?
