To The Editor:
I am not a “sportswoman” but I have really enjoyed reading “The Adventures of LCJ” in your Sports and Recreation column. Lawrence Cooper Jordan, Jr. is a wonderful writer!
Have you driven down one of our Main Streets lately in Dillon, Latta, or Lake View and taken a look around at what you see? If you have then one of the things that may have struck you is the number of empty buildings on all three of these Main Streets.

I would like to take this opportunity to commend a fellow writer, Bishop Michael Goings for his informative article on one of Dillon’s finest citizens who passed away way too soon in life.
Transparency. I use this word every time I am in a meeting with a South Carolina Senator or House member here in Columbia. I can’t avoid it.

I appreciate your response to my letter to the editor and your attempt to justify the existence and separation from the Dillon Historical Society from your group DSHF as well as their relationship to each other.

Your letter to The Dillon Herald’s editor published on Tuesday, February 15, contained glaring errors resulting from either misinformation or no information at all.
To The Editor:
Usually when I attend county council meetings, there may be only one or two others attending. However, at this past January meeting the council room was crammed (even had several standees) with lawyers and representatives of the historical society.
There have been a number of break-ins in our area in recent months.
A few years ago, Comptroller Richard Eckstrom ran a guest editorial called “Questions For Candidates.” With local primary elections coming up in June, some have asked that we reprint this editorial again.
