The Little Church That Could

Our Pastor was away recently so the congregation was invited to attend morning worship at the nearby Oakland United Methodist Church.  That is when I thought of the child’s story, The Little Engine That Could. There are similarities between the story and its lesson  and this church.

Two Priests Go To Oxford

Episcopal priest H. Frederick Gough, Vicar of St. Barnabas’ Dillon, S.C. and Anglican priest Donald R. Hayes, Vicar of Christ Church Calabash, N.C. and Rector of St. Patrick Church, Murrells Inlet, S.C. recently returned from Oxford, England where they spent eight days studying “Christianity in the 21st Century at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford University.

Church Gets New Steeple

Although strong winds knocked over the steeple of Oakland Holiness Church recently, the love and dedication of members and friends of the church was stronger.
