Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators earned a 5-1 win over Green Sea Floyds on Friday night in varsity softball action in Lake View.
The Lady Gators picked up three runners in the bottom of the first inning and added a fourth in the third. The Trojans picked up their only run in the top of the fourth, and Lake View sealed the win with one more runner in the bottom of the sixth.
Marissa Tyndall earned the win on the mound, pitching a complete game for four hits, one run, and one walk, striking out 13. Page McDaniels took the loss for Green Sea-Floyds, pitching six innings for five runs,three walks, and one out.
At bat for the Gators, Tyndall went 2-for-4 with a home run and one RBI; Alex Elliott and Jasmine Ford each went 2-for-2 with one RBI; and Kayla Page went 2-for-3. The Gators had 12 hits and two errors in the win.
Green Sea Floyds had four hits and two errors in the effort.
Lake View improved to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in Region 8-A.
The Lady Gators are scheduled to host Latta’s Lady Vikings tonight at 5:30 p.m. in a matchup of local and regional rivals. Make plans to attend for some great varsity softball action!
On Wednesday, Lake View will be at Wilson for a non-conference double-header, and on Tuesday, April 21, Lake View will be at Carvers Bay to wrap up region play.
