Margaret Jane Alligood Johnson, 87, died March 17, 2015 at the Methodist Manor in Florence, SC.  Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M., March 19, 2015 at Latta Baptist Church with visitation following the service at the Church.  Private interment will be held at Magnolia Cemetery prior to the service.  Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta is assisting the family.
Mrs. Johnson was born November 28, 1927 in Washington, NC, the daughter of the late Anson M. and Sue Ray Alligood.  She graduated from Mars Hill College and Wake Forrest College and taught Elementary and Special Education classes at Latta Elementary Schools until her retirement. She was very active in the Dogwood Garden Club. She was a member of Latta Baptist Church. She was the widow of Alex H. “Buddy” Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Alex H. Johnson, Jr. (Susan) of Latta, SC; daughter, Susan J. Wilson (Don) of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alex H. “Buddy” Johnson Scholarship Fund, Latta High School, 618 North Richardson Street – Latta, SC 29565 and/or Latta Baptist Church Building Fund, 202 North Main Street – Latta, SC 29565.
