The Dillon Garden Club meeting was held Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at the home of Susan Kannaday.
After some visiting and refreshments, President Pat Laird called the meeting to order. “Uncle Jim,” Jim Allen, of Latta presented an informative program on bees.
He described the kinds of bees and their jobs in the hive, the process of extracting honey, and the different products provided by bees.
He also listed the many beneficial ways in which honey is used for medicinally as well as in recipes and as a condiment. After his presentation, the general meeting began.
Old business discussed was the success of the Christmas tour of homes, annual dues, and changes which had been made to this year’s calendar.
After we discussed the upcoming Coastal District Meeting in March at Myrtle Beach, and the spring field trip to be held in May, President Laird adjourned the meeting.
The next meeting will be held at the home of Pat Laird.
