Hemingway’s Tigers edged the Latta Vikings 80-77 on Thursday night in Hemingway as both teams closed out their regular season schedule.

The Vikings ended the season with a 12-6 record overall and an 8-2 record in Region 8-A. Latta earned the region title for the first time since 2002, while Carvers Bay finished second in the region. Hemingway finished third with a 7-3 record.

Latta will host Timmonsville tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the first round of the 2015 Class A boys basketball playoffs. The Whirlwinds were fourth in Region 7-A with a 4-4 record in the region and an 11-12 overall record. The winner will face the winner of Denmark-Olar/Baptist Hill game on Friday, February 20.

Carvers Bay is scheduled to host C. E. Murray tonight, with the winner moving on to face Allendale-Fairfax or Charleston Charter in round two.

Hemingway is set to travel to Scott’s Branch tonight, and Branchville will be at Burke.

Creek Bridge, Region 8-A’s fourth place team, will travel to Hannah-Pamplico tonight, and the winner will face the winner of the Cross/Bamberg-Ehrhardt game.
