Dillon’s Lady Wildcats slipped to third place in the latest state basketball coaches polls, while Latta’s Lady Vikings held on to third place in Class A.

After Mullins defeated Dillon last week in girls basketball action, the Lady Auctioneers took over the top spot in the Class 2A girls polls. Bishop England moved in to second place while Dillon dropped to third, followed by Newberry and Pendleton in the top five.

In Class A, Christ Church held on to the top spot, with Timmonsville in second and Latta in third. Carvers Bay, ranked sixth, upset the Lady Vikings on Tuesday night. Ridge Spring-Monetta and St. Joseph’s took the fourth and fifth spots this week.

In the boys polls, Latta was ranked third in Class A behind Burke and Calhoun County, with Southside Christian and Christ Church rounding out the top five and Hannah-Pamplico ranked eighth. The Raiders have already claimed the Region 7-A title.

In Class 2A, Ridgeland-Hardeeville wa ranked first ,followed by Keenan, Timberland, Battery Creek, and Cheraw, with Mullins taking sixth place.
