Dillon’s junior varsity Wildcats hosted Lake View’s Wild Gators on Wednesday night for boys and girls basketball action.

In girls’ action, the JV Wildcats took a 15-2 lead in the first quarter with Lake View’s Janai Ford stealing the ball and driving the length of the court to lay one in for two points. A low-scoring second quarter saw the Wildcats pull ahead to lead 20-6 at the half, and after three, the Wildcats were up 34-11. Dillon added 14 points in the fourth quarter to seal the win at 48-15.

The Wildcats had nine fouls in the second half, and Lake View had eight.

In the boys’ game, another low-scoring quarter saw the Wild Gators take a 4-2 lead at the end of the first with Dillon committing five fouls. But the Wildcats rallied and finished the game with a 46-40 win over Lake View.

The JV Wildcats will be off for the winter break but will return to action on Monday, January 12, to host Aynor.

The Wild Gator boys will return to action to host Latta on Monday, January 12, and both Lake View JV teams will be in action against Hemingway at home on Thursday, January 15.
