Weathers and McGill discussed the importance of increasing access to Certified South Carolina Grown products to our state’s 940,000 senior citizens, which also create additional opportunities for South Carolina farmers.
“It is unique that South Carolina has the capability of producing everything you need for your holiday meal, from the sweet potatoes and the collards, to the peas and the poultry,” said Weathers. “The South Carolina Department of Agriculture is proud to be a part of this partnership that will provide local, fresh products for our senior citizens to enjoy. There is nothing fresher, nothing finer, than South Carolina grown products.”
