The Dillon Christian School Warriors traveled to Myrtle Beach Friday night and came away with a 54-0 region win over the Saints of Christian Academy. The win puts the Warriors at 7-1 on the season and 3-1 in region play.

The Warriors picked up four touchdowns in the first quarter. The first was on a 55-yard run by TeShaun Lane with 11:46 left in the quarter. The Saints fumbled the kickoff and Michael Minges recovered for the Warriors. Nine seconds after the Warriors first score, Lane traveled 31 yards for the second touchdown. Lane added his third of the quarter with 7:11 left in the first with a 5-yard run and Red Williams got the fourth touchdown on a 23-yard run. Jim Carr was 3-of-4 in point after attempts to give the Warriors a 27-0 lead.

Lane got his fourth and final touchdown of the game with 11:53 left in the second quarter on a 9-yard run. Carr’s kick gave the Warriors a 34-0 lead. Thomas Evans finished the Warriors next offensive possession with a 9-yard touchdown run. The kick was off, leaving the Warriors out front 40-0 with 7:33 left in the second quarter. Red Williams grabbed his second touchdown of the game on a 55-yard run with 5:33 left in the second quarter. Carr’s point after kick gave the Warriors a 47-0 lead and the first half would end with this score.

The second half would have the quarters shortened to eight minutes and the clock run without stoppage on the mercy rule. Luke Price intercepted a Saint pass and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown. Carr added the final point of the game with 6:11 left in the third quarter to give the Warriors the 54-0 lead. The remainder of the game was played with a lot of substitutions by the Warriors to hold the score down and give young players some playing time.

On offense for the Warriors, TeShaun Lane had 243 yards on 12 carries with four touchdowns; Red Williams got 78 yards on two carries with two touchdowns; Michael Minges had 72 yards on six carries; Thomas Evans had 30 yards on four carries with a touchdown; and Jackson Wolfe had positive yardage on one carry. Williams and Minges had runs called back that would have put both runners over 100 yards. Jim Carr passed one time for seven yards and was 6-of-8 in point after kicks.

On defense, Luke Price made six tackles, four assists; Thomas Evans made six tackles, three assists; Ellison Rourke made five tackles, three assists; Mathew Price and Jake Boykin made four tackles, four assists, and a quarterback sack each; David Williams and Tyquan Crosland had four tackles, two assists each; Ethan Shackelford made three tackles, two assists; Samuel Brown, Samuel Coleman, Connor Hamilton, and Garret Collins each had two tackles, two assists; and Red Williams and Bradley Patterson each added a tackle with two assists.

The Warriors will be at home on Friday night for a non-region game with Florence Christian School. The Eagles are the defending 2A champion and have already claimed the SCISA Region 1-2A title with a 7-1 record this season. Hammond ended Florence Christians’ 19-game winning streak last Friday with a 35-21 win over the Eagles. Game time for this Friday is set for 7:30 p.m.
