By Christina H. Fowler, Branch Manager Dillon County Library
Did you ever wonder where you can go to learn about the history of your family?
Well we have your answer, it’s your public library. The Dillon County Library is the place to start your trip into the past to learn about your family.
We have a nice genealogy room that offers books on the history of different people and places.
If Dillon is not your home library, Latta and Lake View both have some Genealogy material.
We also have a microfilm machine that you can look at old Dillon Heralds and the Census (up to 1930). Those who do not want to use the microfilm we do have some bound copies of The Dillon Herald. You rather use the computer well we have several options for you on the computer. You can go to our website, Dillon.lib.sc.us and click on the link Research sources/links, or you can come into the library and take advantage of our newest addition ancestrylibrary.com.
Do you have your own microfilm or microfiche and you need to make copies our microfilm machine has that ability?
We, as Staff of the Dillon County Library, are here to help if you would like to email with questions you can email us at dilloncountylibrary@live.com or call 843-774-0330.
