Latta High School swimmer Joanne Bethea had a great start at the first Swim Invitational in Myrtle Beach. The event was hosted by Carolina Forest High School on Saturday, August 23.
Bethea placed third out of 106 swimmers in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.76 seconds and fourth out of 109 swimmers in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.24 seconds. Both are state qualifying times and personal best times for Bethea.
Bethea continued strong at the Florence Invite at Francis Marion University on Wednesday, August 27. She placed first in the fifty freestyle and first in the 100 backstroke.
