McLeod Physician Associates and McLeod Medical Center Dillon are pleased to announce that Marla J. Hardenbergh, M.D. has joined McLeod OB/GYN Dillon.

Dr. Hardenbergh received her degree in medicine from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, in 1998. She also completed an OB/GYN Residency at West Virginia University.
During undergraduate studies, Dr. Hardenbergh received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Guilford College, Greensboro, NC.
Dr. Hardenbergh is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
“I chose to become a physician at a young age. I can remember having the idea when I was in 7th grade,” recalled Dr. Hardenbergh. “I felt a deep need for my life to be significant and for my career choice to make a difference.”
“I chose to become an obstetrician and gynecologist as a medical student when I did an OB/GYN clinical rotation. I was exposed to women of all ages going through very different experiences. I knew that this specialty would give me a chance to use my surgical skills and give me the opportunity to care for my patients on a spiritual level. Now that I’ve been doing it, I would not be a physician unless I could do obstetrics and gynecology – it was the right choice for me,” said Dr. Hardenbergh.
Dr. Hardenbergh enjoys practicing medicine in a small town and looks forward to joining McLeod Dillon.
“I look forward to being part of a healthcare team that promotes healthy moms and babies and women at all stages of life.  I also have a special interest in helping women with substance abuse and dependency.”
Dr. Hardenbergh continued, “I had an overwhelming feeling that Dillon was the right place for me and my family.  I love the people!  It’s a small town that is similar to the rural area in West Virginia where I grew up.  I look forward to being part of a small town again.”
Dr. Hardenbergh will be relocating to Dillon from Moore County, NC, where she most recently practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Pinehurst, NC.
Dr. Hardenbergh and her two sons, Reed (age 14) and Ryan (age 9), like to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing.
Dr. Hardenbergh served in the US Navy.  “My service as an active duty General Medical Officer in the military is something I will always be glad I did,” said Dr. Hardenbergh.  “It was an honor to care for our service men and women.”
McLeod OB/GYN Dillon is located in the McLeod Dillon Professional Building at 705 N. 8th Avenue, Suite 3B, Dillon, SC.
