The Dillon Christian School Warriors fell 68-52 to the visiting King’s Academy Lions on Tuesday, January 14, in boys varsity basketball.
The King’s Academy took an 18 -12 lead in the first quarter and led 36-26 at the half. The Lions outscored the Warriors 22-15 in the third to pull ahead 58-41, and held off Dillon Christian 10-11 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Jared Zernikow scored a game-high 24 points to lead The King’s Academy in the win, with Christopher Dean adding 21 points and Ryan Towler adding 12 points with 11 rebounds. Ben Clements added eight points, and Chandler Powell scored two with Rich Alexander adding one.
Tyler Davis led the Warriors with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks in the effort. Matt Jordan earned nine points with three rebounds; Luke Price scored nine points with six rebounds and a steal; Thomas Evans added six points with three rebounds; Mark Minges earned six points with six rebounds, an assist, and a steal; Matthew Price scored four points with a defensive rebound; Jim Carr scored three points with three rebounds; and Will Brown grabbed one defensive rebound with one steal and a block.
The Warriors are 6-3 so far this season and will be at Marlboro Academy tonight with junior varsity action beginning at 4:00 p.m.
