The Latta Vikings opened region play with a 66-52 win over Creek Bridge at home on Tuesday night.

The Vikings pulled ahead 15-12 in the first quarter and led 35-25 at half-time. Latta outpaced the Warriors 31-27 in the second half to claim the win.

Kartilus McFadden led Latta with a game-high 26 points and Tyrell Sabb added 14 points in the win. R.J. McClam scored 8; Jordan Smith, 6; Diez Mungro, 4; Erica McGrath, 4; Jordan Simms, 3; and Quane Williams added one point for the Vikings.

Jalen Eaddy led Creek Bridge with 12 points and Myles Branham and Akelle Cross each added 11. Elijah Branham scored 8, and Dejuan Surrency, Darren Butler, Tykeem Williams, and Quishon Willis each added two in the effort.

Latta improved to 2-5 overall and starts conference play with a 1-0 record in Region 8-A.

The Vikings will be at Green Sea-Floyds this Friday, and will be back home on Tuesday to host Hannah-Pamplico. Then on Thursday, the Vikings will travel to Lake View to face their local rivals, the Wild Gators.
