An agreement between two Dillon brothers made years ago to split any lottery winnings, no matter who buys the ticket, no questions asked, came into play Tuesday night.

The older brother’s Mega Millions® ticket bought from Granny’s One Stop on Hwy. 301 in Dillon won $1 MILLION.

He told his wife first.  She thought her husband was lying until she checked the numbers herself and saw the first five numbers matched Tuesday’s results (21, 30, 34, 39, and 49, MB: 43).

He called his little brother next.

“Do you want to go to Columbia to help me pick up a check?” he asked.

They did just that yesterday.

“We’re helping Mom first,” the brothers said in complete agreement.

The brothers overcame steep odds of 1 in 3.9 million plus to win the $1 million prize.

Granny’s One Stop received a commission of $10,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
