LATTA-Marian Finklea LeGette Josey, 72, passed away peacefully at her home March 29, 2013. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Latta United Methodist Church with interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013, at the home of Cindy and LaFon LeGette, Jr., 906 Dothan Road, Latta, SC.

Marian was born March 27, 1941 in Florence, SC, the daughter of the late Andrew LaFon and Julia Hill Finklea LeGette. She graduated from Latta High School where she was a cheerleader and President of the student body. She graduated from Columbia College and taught school in Alexandria, VA; Charleston, Bishopville, Little Rock, Dillon, SC; and Robeson County, NC. She retired as a teacher from Dillon School District #2. She was formerly married to the late Charles Wofford Josey of Lynchburg, SC. She was very active in Latta United Methodist Church where she was past director of the Handbell Choir, pianist for the Men’s Hut, active in her Church Circle, and taught Sunday School for the Ladies Bible Class. She was a member and past president of McLeod Hospital Auxiliary Dillon. She also enjoyed gardening and was an active member of the Magnolia Garden Club.

She is survived by her brother A. LaFon LeGette, Jr. (Cindy) of Latta, SC; three nieces, Celeste Huggins (Nelson) of Charleston, SC, Julie Sluss (Frankie) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Paula Williamson (Joe) of Columbia, SC; three step-nephews, John Lane (Ashley), David Lane (Christa), and Daniel Lane, all of Latta, SC; great nieces, Margaret Davis Huggins and Ellie LeGette Huggins; great nephew, Nelson Beard Huggins; step-great niece, Raegan Lane; step-great nephews, Colby Lane, Jesse Lane, and Seth Lane; cousins, Belva Finklea Greene of Latta, T. F. (Buzzy) Finklea, Jr. of Latta, A. Marion Finklea of Florida, Dr. Lee K. Finklea of Latta, Ryan F. Finklea of Latta, Alton Finklea of Latta, Hugh Finklea of Louisiana, Elizabeth LeGette King of Charlotte, NC, Louise LeGette Douglas of Viriginia, Lorraine LeGette Farmer of Maryland, Ann Carlson of Dillon, Larry Stephens of Columbia, and Polly Stephens Nodine of Georgia.

The family is grateful for the care given to her by Virginia Daniels, Jerri Turbeville, and Rose Summerford.
