The Dillon Wildcats defeated Mullins 69-59 on Monday night to advance to the third round of the Class AA Boys Basketball tournament.

Dillon, the only local team still alive in the playoffs, will be traveling to face Lake Marion on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. Lake Marion defeated Marion 52-50 to advance.

Silver Bluff and Wade Hampton also advanced to the lower state semi-finals. In the upper state, Keenan will host Indian Land on Wednesday and Landrum will host Newberry.

In Class A girls action, Timmonsville defeated Carvers Bay 50-32 to advance to the Lower State championship while Hemingway took down Whale Branch 48-29 to advance. The Lower State Championship will be held at the Florence Civic Center on Saturday, February 23, at 11:00 a.m.

In the upper state, McCormick defeated St. Joseph’s 52-50 to advance to the Upper State final. They will face either McBee or Brashier Middle College Charter for the upper state title. The state championship game will be held on Saturday, March 2.

The Class A, Class 3A, and Class 4A boys and Class 2A girls will play tonight at 7:00 p.m.
