The Dillon Wildcats took down Kingstree 62-54 on Wednesday night to advance to the second round of the Class 2A Lower State boys basketball playoffs.
The Wildcats improved to 19-7 as they prepare to host Mullins this Saturday, February 16, at 7:00 p.m. The winner of Saturday’s game will face either Marion or Lake Marion on Wednesday, February 20.
Mullins defeated Lake City 51-49 to advance to the second round. Marion also advanced with an 82-71 win over Andrews, while Waccamaw fell 70-32 to Lake Marion. Marion will be at Lake Marion on Saturday.
Silver Bluff, Wade Hampton, and Edisto also advanced to the second round of the Lower State playoffs, eliminating Battery Creek, Woodland, and Bishop England respectively. Ridgeland-Hardeeville also fell to Calhoun County on Wednesday.
The Class A girls will play tonight at 7:00 p.m., and Class A boys and Class AA girls will play on Friday at 7:00 p.m. All local Class A teams have been eliminated, but Dillon’s Lady Wildcats will be playing at Lake City at 7:00 p.m. The winner of Friday’s game will advance to the third round on Tuesday, February 19, to face either Mullins or Kingstree.
