The reappointments for the Dillon County Public-Private Economic Development Partnership Board were tabled at the January meeting of the Dillon County Council. Four positions expired on January 1, 2013 including District 1 (Councilman Randy Goings)-Charles McLaurin, District 2 (Councilman Bobby Moody)-Alvin Nobles, District 3 (Chairman Archie Scott)-Robbie Coward, and District Four (Councilman Buzzy Finklea)-Linda M. Hayes. These members will continue to serve until reappointed or replaced. The Dillon Public-Private Economic Development Partnership Board was created “for the purpose of advancing the general welfare of the residents of Dillon County through programs and activities to develop Dillon County’s natural resources and economic opportunities pertaining to commerce, agriculture, forestry, transportation, travel and tourism; to cooperate and offer assistance to existing industries and businesses; to promote and encourage the establishing and
location of new industries and businesses in Dillon County; and to further the county’s interest in other matters intended to foster and develop gainful employment and the pursuit of happiness of all who are now and may hereafter be residents of Dillon County,” the ordinance states.
