The jury in the trial of Robert Lee Nelson, who was charged in the Mary and Walter Swaner case, deadlocked on the murder charges, but were found guilty on charges of burglary first, two counts of armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He received a total of 52 years. He received 47 years on burglary first degree, 30 years concurrent on each charge of armed robbery, and five years consecutive on the possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. A mistrial was declared on the murder charges.
