The Dixie Darlings sub-district tournament kicked off Monday, June 18, with Dillon dominating the first two days of play.

The sub-district Dixie Darlings tournament, for ages 8 and under, includes the Dillon, Latta, Darlington, and Marlboro teams. The winner will go to Sumter to participate in the district tournament beginning Monday, June 25.

The sub-district tournament kicked off Monday night in Dillon with Dillon defeating Marlboro County 21-0 and Latta defeating Darlington 19-1.

On Tuesday night, Darlington took down Marlboro County 15-4, and Dillon defeated Latta 20-9.

Latta was scheduled to face Darlington on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. The winner of that game will play Dillon tonight at 6:00 p.m. If Dillon loses, a second game will be played for the championship title.

The Dixie Darlings aren’t the only teams facing upcoming tournament action. The 11-12-year-old Dixie Youth Majors will be participating in their district tournament beginning Friday, July 6, through Wednesday, July 11. The double-elimination tournament will have eight teams.

The Dixie Belles, ages 15 and under, will be heading for their 8th state championship tournament this summer. The tournament will begin on Friday, July 13, with the championship held on Tuesday, July 17.
