Dillon and Latta both captured Lower State Titles on Tuesday, and tonight they’ll open the State Title series.

Latta defeated Green Sea-Floyds 7-1 on Friday for the Class A Lower State softball title, with Anna Rogers pitching seven innings and allowing just five hits. Chelsea Welty and Tori Grimsley each hit home runs in the win.

Latta will travel to Chesterfield tonight to take on the Lady Rams at 6:00 p.m., and will host Chesterfield on Wednesday in game 2.

Meanwhile, the Lady Wildcats took down Hanahan’s Lady Hawks twice on Friday with scores of 3-2 and 4-2 to claim the Class AA Lower State softball title. Shaquailla German hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning of game one for the win.

Dillon will host Palmetto tonight at 6:00 p.m. and will travel to Palmetto on Wednesday for game two of the state series. If the game is rained out, it will be played on Tuesday evening.

In SCISA action, Dillon Christian’s Schools Lady Warriors played through four games of state tournament action before falling to Williamsburg Academy in their fifth as the Stallions advanced to the final four.
