Dillon’s D.J. Park has been nominated to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, on January 5, 2013.
Park is one of six players nominated from South Carolina with 400 nominees nationwide. Only 90 players will be selected for the game with the final selections announced in September.
The offensive lineman is a four-star prospect and has verbally committed to play for South Carolina in the fall of 2013. The 6-foot-6, 316 pound junior fielded offers from Clemson, Auburn, N.C. State, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Florida, East Carolina, Tennessee, LSU, and Virginia Tech before becoming the first Wildcat to verbally commit to USC for 2013.
Earlier this year, Park participated in the National Under Armour Combine at the ESPN Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, where he received the Best Blocker Award from Rivals.com. He was also named an HSSR All State Offensive Lineman, and was invited to participate in the MVP Football Camp in Atlanta, Georgia, in Spring 2011.
Park is the son of Pastor Joseph and Sherry Park and the grandson of James and the late Thomasena Hines.
The other South Carolina nominees are Goose Creek’s Tramel Terry and Gerald Turner, T.L. Hanna’s Ben Boulware, Pendleton’s Michael Hill, and Lake Marion’s Mike Williams.
