Dillon High School’s head baseball coach Greg Dozier earned his 300th win on Tuesday, April 17, when the Wildcats defeated the visiting Aynor Blue Jackets 3-2.

From Mullins, South Carolina, Dozier became coach at Dillon High School in 1995 and is now in his 18th year as head coach. He has now recorded 301 wins and 139 losses, and has led the Wildcats to six Region Championships and three Lower State Championships in 2004 (3A), 2006 (3A), and 2008 (2A).

Dozier has been named Region Coach of the Year six times and was named the Class AAA Coach of the Year by the High School Sports Report in 2004. In 2006, he was named Class AAA Coach of the Year by the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association and was assistant coach for the South team in the 2006 2A/3A North/South All Star Game.

Dozier was also recently named Head Coach for the South team in the 2012 2A/3A North/South All Stars baseball game. The All Star games will be held June 13 through June 16, 2012.

This season, the Wildcats finished at the top of Region 8-2A with an undefeated 10-0 region record and an overall record of 14-2. In the most recent South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association poll, Dillon was ranked sixth in the state in Class AA. The Wildcats begin state playoffs tonight when they are scheduled to host Manning at 6:00 p.m.

Dozier is married to San Smith Dozier who is a reading intervention teacher at North Mullins Primary School. They have two daughters, Kelsey, who attends Coastal Carolina University, and Karly, who is a student at Pee Dee Academy.
