The Dillon County Board of Education voted to give $1,000 to Dillon County Communities In Schools for a platinum table at the CIS annual fundraising event. Board chairman Richard Schafer said the program lost some of its state funding. The program provides health-related services, afterschool services, and scholarships to local students.
