LAKE VIEW—A carjacking suspect was arrested recently, according to the Chief James T. McDaniels of the Lake View Police Department.
Artur Davis Jr., age 39, 8429 Wire Grass Road, Fairmont, NC, is charged with carjacking by force and grand larceny, the incident report says.
The report states that a woman was sitting in her mother’s 2009 Nissan Sentra smoking a cigarette when an African-American man walked up and said that he needed a ride because he needed to get out of there.
She told him that she couldn’t give him a ride because it was her mother’s car.
The report says that the suspect pulled out a black handgun, pointed it at her, and told her to get out the of vehicle because he needed to leave the area fast. He took the vehicle.
About two hours later, Davis was arrested in the Fork area on Buck Swamp Road.
The following deputies from the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest: Detective Shannon Grainger, Cpl. Glen Coates, and Pvt. Henry Love.
