The Lady Wild Gators fell 54-27 to Johnsonville’s Lady Flashes in Tuesday’s Region 8-A opener.

Johnsonville outscored Lake View 13-2 and 16-6 in the first two quarters to lead 29-8 at the half. The Lady Wild Gators rallied in the third to add 12 points while Johnsonville added 11, and the Flashes outscored Lake View again in the fourth, going 14-7 for the final score of 54-27.

Johnsonville’s Keyarah Turner scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Flashes. Khanyzah Weaver earned 11, Crystal Williams added nine, and Shane Mack scored eight, with Nicole Hannah, Shanice Hamilton and Gabby Boatwright each contributing two points in the win.

Lake View was led by Brittany Washington and Jasmine Ford with seven points each. Pamela Butler earned six, Tranya Ford scored five, and Kayla Sanderson added two.

Johnsonville improves to 6-2 overall and picks up their first region win for a 1-0 record in Region 8-A. Lake View falls to 4-0 overall this season.

Next up for the Lady Wild Gators is a visit to Green Sea Floyds tonight at 6:15 p.m. to take on the Lady Trojans.

Lake View will return from the holiday break on Tuesday, January 3, to host Carver’s Bay at 6:00 p.m., and will play host to county rival Latta on Friday, January 6. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
